How it works
iOS can run a personal automation when you pay with a card in Wallet. Malii adds a “Log Transaction” action to the Shortcuts app, so that automation can pass the payment amount and merchant straight into your budget.
Nothing leaves your phone: the payment details come from Wallet on your device and are saved in Malii on your device.
Set it up in about two minutes
- 1Open the Shortcuts app, go to Automation, and tap the plus (+) button.
- 2Choose the Wallet trigger, pick your cards, then tap Next.
- 3Tap Create New Shortcut and search for “Malii” in the actions list.
- 4Select Log Transaction.
- 5In the Amount field, tap Select Variable → Shortcut Input → Amount.
- 6Optional: in the Merchant field, choose Shortcut Input → Merchant (or Location).
- 7Set the automation to run immediately, then tap Done.
Malii reads the currency from the Wallet amount (for example “USD 13”). Payments in your budget currency work on the free plan; converting other currencies needs Premium. The app also includes a short setup video under Settings → iOS Shortcuts → Setup Tutorial.

Frequently asked questions
Does Malii read my bank statements?
No. Malii does not connect to banks. Apple Pay payments are logged through an automation you create in Apple's Shortcuts app, which runs on your iPhone.
Which iPhones support the Wallet automation?
The Wallet transaction trigger is part of the Shortcuts app on recent versions of iOS. If you don't see the Wallet trigger, update iOS and make sure the card is added to Apple Wallet.
What about cash or card payments without Apple Pay?
Add them manually in a few taps, from a widget, or with Siri. Malii remembers merchants so repeat entries are quick.
Is the automation free?
Yes. Shortcuts logging, Siri, and widgets are all included in Malii's free plan.
